PEDRO JUAN FONSECA
Pedro Juan Fonseca is an actor and writer based in Minneapolis. He splits his time between stage roles, on-camera work, and long walks narrating ideas into his Notes app that might one day become screenplays (once he figures out how to sync them to his laptop).
Pedro is a member of the Guthrie Actors Lab 2025 Company and holds dual B.A.s in Theatre and Cinema Studies from the University of Minnesota—but most of what he knows comes from rehearsals that ran too long and directors who asked the right questions to pull him out of his head and into character.
He has appeared on stage at the Guthrie Theater (Othello, Native Gardens, Bad News), Children’s Theatre Company (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea), Hope Repertory Theatre (Shakespeare in Love, West Side Story), and Off-Broadway with Titan Theatre Company (A Christmas Carol).
On screen, he’s worked with HBO, 20th Century Studios, and Algeria’s NumediaTV. In commercials, Pedro has sold everything from wings to Wi-Fi for brands like Best Buy, Pepsi, Target, Buffalo Wild Wings, Xfinity, and spot for Cenex gas stations during Super Bowl LI.
His short film The Reaper—a tightly wound portrait of a veteran living with PTSD, featuring a lot of red lasers—was a finalist in the top 10% at the London Director Awards and earned him Best Screenwriter at the 2024 Cambridge Short Film Festival.
He’s focused on work that invites inquiry and rewards risk—alongside collaborators who want to leave a mark on audiences everywhere.
