Inspiration comes to town

News
Several years ago, I was looking for a path to bring together my dual passions for community building and theater making. I discovered Cornerstone Theater and their 25-year-old method of making community-based performances. I attended their summer institute. I was skeptical when I went, weeping with joy and inspiration when I returned. I wrote about the experience here on Playlist. Now I'm working with my own company, Mixed Blood Theatre, and Bedlam Theatre on a project to make a new play, collaborating with Minnesotans who have served in the military. Peter Howard is coming to town to help us kick off our story circle workshops with veterans. Wearing my other hat at the Minnesota Theater Alliance, I though maybe some other theater-makers would like to meet him and be inspired too. Please join us for a meet and chat with Peter this weekend at Springboard for the Arts, Sunday, July 1st, 2:00-4:00 p.m. RSVP here. Learn more about Cornerstone here and check out a video about their latest project, Cafe Vida, here.
