Jackdonkey Productions: The Assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary Franz Ferdinand

Through humor, tragedy, and shenanigans, we are witness to the story of a significant moment in history. The assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary, Franz Ferdinand.

Jackdonkey Productions (@jackdonkeyprod) started as a Minnesota Fringe company inspired by absurd, surreal, and experimental theatre. Breaking into the Minneapolis theatre community with four 5-star Minnesota Fringe productions.

In the last six months, we have taken a devised show on tour, received the 2022 St. Louis Fringe Artistic Innovation Award, and sold out our first two independent production runs with Far Away by Caryl Churchill, and Shaun: An Absurdist Comedy by Delvina Logeais.

We are looking for an ensemble of 10 actors! A majority of the cast will play multiple roles. Emphasis in humor, physical comedy, and movement.

Jackdonkey Productions strongly encourages actors of all ethnicities and identities to audition.

Rehearsals start at the beginning of May. Weeknight evenings, and some Saturday afternoons. Various rehearsal locations in Minneapolis.

TECH TBD at Bryant Lake Bowl.

An audition form, conflict sheet, and detailed rehearsal calendar will be provided at auditions.

Stipend: $100 (or more variable by profit)

Auditions will be held at the Phoenix Theater (2605 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408) on April 15th from 12:00-3:45 PM

Auditions will consist of sides and collaborative work. No monologue preparation is required (doesn't hurt to have a contemporary comedic...)

Interested actors are encouraged to signup for a 45-minute audition group on Signup Genius between 12:00-3:45 PM and bring in a physical copy of their headshot and resume.
